So later today I get my passport back hopefully with my Russian and Mongolian Visa in it. The thing is im panicing that I haven’t put the correct dates down. If this is the case then its going to be a very busy week indeed trying to sort everything out. I hope for the life of me it is correct.
I also get to buy train ticket for Riga to Mongolia when i pick up my visas. If you dont know about the Trans-Siberian railway line let me give you the low down
Its the longest railway network in the world spanning 10 time zones and 9000km.
The route starts at Moscow and finishes on the Pacific coast at the Russian city of Vladivostok. There are two other main routes that can be taken off the Trans-Siberian line. The Trans Marrakech which goes through Kazakhstan and the Trans-Mongolia which is the route im taking. More info on the railway can be found here
My train journey breaks down like this.
Latvia
Riga
Russia
St Petersburg
Moscow
Yekaterinburg
Irkutsk
Ulan-Ude
Mongolia
Ulan-Bator
All together it will take me about 1 month to get to Mongolia.
Right, I better get going to the VISA office. Wish me luck.
