After my disappointment of not been able to trek in Tibet (You can thank the Chinese government for shutting the boarders) I’ve come up with another plan….. Stick with me.
One of the main things I’ve always wanted to do is walk Alfred Wainwright’s coast to coast route.
The Route
I shall start in St Bees on the coast of the Irish Sea and make my way through three of our national parks. The Lake District, The Yorkshire Dales and the Yorkshire Moors ending up 192 miles away at Robin Hood’s Bay on the North Sea coast.
You can follow my progress through the magic of Twitter as I will be able to ‘GEOTWEET’ my exacted location from my iPhone. http://twitter.com/samdj1210
I shall be leaving on the 10th of August and fingers crossed it should take about 2 weeks to complete….. Unless my legs give up or I die on the moors….. lets hope not!
The Cause
As some of you are aware my original plan of trekking in Tibet was to raise money £2500 for Cancer Research UK. This hasn’t changed and I thank everyone who has taken the time to donate so far. If you would like to donate please press the donate button at the bottom of this page. All money will go to Cancer Research UK (So don’t worry, none of the money fund my addiction to travelling or Cameras).
Again, Thank you to everyone who has donated so far. Means so much to me.
